MAIL - 13 - Part - 2

I Wrote -

Dear Friend

What Happened To The Prophets ?

God Almighty had send prophets to every nation who lived on the planet earth.

Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him; so, We made them follow one another, and We made them as Ahadith (not worthy of being mentioned). So, away with a people who believe not! Quran 23:44

- Messengers were sent in succession.
- All the messengers were denied by the mass majority people.
- Messengers followed one another. No messenger denied his predecessor.

And indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) and Ibrahim (Abraham), and placed in their offspring Prophet-hood and Scripture. And among them there are some who are guided; but many of them are rebellious. Then, We sent after them Our Messengers, and We sent Isa (Jesus Christ) the son of Maryam (Marry), and gave him the Injil (The Gospel that was revealed to Jesus Christ). Quran 57:26-27

- Prophet Noah was the first messenger who was sent to the mankind.
- After prophet Noah, there came several messengers some of whose names are known and some of whose names are unknown.
- There came prophet Abraham who was the Father of both Israel and Arabs.
- Jesus Christ was sent to the House of Israel, as the last but one messenger of God.

When Moses was sent with The Signs of God, they laughed at him.

And indeed We did send Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir`awn (Pharaoh) and his chiefs. He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of all that exists.'' But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold, they laughed at them. 43:46-47

When Jesus was sent, he addressed theChildren of Israel saying -

I am the Messenger of Allah unto you, confirming what is before me in the Tawrah (The Gospel given to Moses), and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad (prophet Mohammad). Quran 61:6

Jesus Christ also experienced rebellion from the Jews.

Then when Isa (Jesus Christ) came to know of their disbelief, he said: "Who will be my helpers in Allah's cause!'' ... Quran 3:52

Quran has a detailed account of Jesus Christ and explains what happened after the departure of Jesus Christ from this world.

What Happened To The Scriptures ?

To my knowledge of Quran, it mostly describes the stories of the previous scriptures that were sent to The Children of Israel.

The Gospel of Moses and The Jews

After prophet Moses,  the protection of The Gospel of Moses, was entrusted at the hands of Jewish Rabbis.

Verily, We did send down the Tawrah (The Gospel of Moses. Today known as The Old Testament), therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets who submitted themselves to Allah's will, judged for the Jews. And the Rabbaniyyun (The learned worshipers) and the Ahbar (Jewish Rabbis), for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me and sell not My verses for a miserable price. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah  has revealed, such are the disbelievers. Quran 5:44

- There was Guidance and Light in The Gospel of Moses.
- All the prophets submitted to One God.
- Jewish Rabbis were entrusted the protection of God's book.

After the departure of Moses, the Rabbis became corrupted and they removed verses that they disliked and added verses they wanted. Quran has a very detailed and extensive record of Moses and the children of Israel.

Then woe to those who write the book with their own hands and then say, "This is from Allah (One God),'' to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby. Quran 2:79

The above verse refers to the one group of people among the Children of Israel who altered the word of God for worldly gains.

The Gospel of Jesus and The Christians

And in their footsteps, We sent Isa (Jesus Christ), son of Maryam, confirming the Tawrah (Gospel of Moses. Today known as Old Testament) that had come before him, and We gave him the Injil (Gospel of Jesus. Today known as the New Testament), in which was guidance and light and confirmation of the Tawrah
(Old Testament) that had come before it, a guidance and an admonition for those who have Taqwa (God fearing mind and practice). Let the people of the Injil (Gospel of Jesus. Today known as the New Testament) judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the rebellious. Quran 5:46-47

- Quran teaches that Jesus Christ son of Marry, was a true prophet of God.
- Quran teaches that Jesus Christ was given The Gospel.
- Quran teaches that The Gospel of Jesus contained Guidance and Light.
- Jesus Christ was sent to the House of Israel, to guide them to the true message of God.
- The protection of The Gospel of Jesus, was again entrusted at the hands of his followers.

The history repeated. After the departure of Jesus Christ, his followers
removed verses that they disliked and added verses they wanted. The final testament Quran addressed both Jews and the Christians -

"O People of the Scripture! Why do you disbelieve in the Signs of Allah (One God), while you bear witness.'' "O People of the Scripture! Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know!'' Quran 3:70-71

Quran Recalls the Jews and The Christians

Quran recalled both parties to The True belief of Moses and Jesus.

O Children of Israel ! Remember My favor which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill (your obligations to) My covenant (with you) so that I fulfill (My obligations to) your covenant (with Me), and fear none but Me. And believe in what I have sent down (this Qur'an), confirming that which is with you (The Gospel of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus), and be not the first to disbelieve therein, and buy not with My verses (The Gospel of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus) a small price (i.e. getting a small gain by selling My verses), and fear Me and Me alone. Quran 2:40-41

- Almighty God took a covenant from the Children of Israel that not to worship anyone but One God.
- Almighty God called both parties to believe in Quran that confirmed the previous Gospels of God.

- Almighty God cautioned both parties not to sell His verses for a small price.

But -

(And remember) when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) to make it (the truth) known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it, but they threw it away  behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And indeed worst is that which they bought. Quran 3:187
- Both Jews and the Christians did not accept this call of God.
- Both Jews and the Christians rejected the call to the True Belief of Moses and Jesus.
Only a small people among them accepted this call.
- Both Jews and the Christians rejected the call to the True Belief of One God that was practiced by all the prophets of God, except a small group.

This is a very tiny account from the extensive story that Quran recorded about the Jews and the Christians.

will be continued ...
